Sim City Slated to Release Later This Month

Sim CityEA Mobile has moved into the final stages of production of Sim City, which should release later this month. Kotaku managed to get their hands on an early copy, so head over there to see what the guys thought. Despite a few bugs and minor setbacks from having to use your fingers to place the buildings it seems like Sim City will be a solid, fully functional (not trimmed down from the PC version) launch.

Sim City is expected to retail for $9.99.


EA’s Monopoly now available for iPhone

He says the game looks very similar to SimCity 3000, but with the multi-touch controls it controls a lot better thant he old-school SimCity-games. SimCity will come out in December for $9.99.


Scrabble just $7.99 for a limited time

EA, Scrabble, Electronic Arts, Apple, iPhone, iPhone 3GEA has dropped the price of Scrabble for the iPhone and iPod Touch from $9.99 to just $7.99 for a limited time. EA seems to be trying out some things with different pricepoints, it recently dropped the price of Tetris with $2 as well. In Scrabble gamers need to form words with lettered tiles they pulled out of a bag. The number of points you get for a word depends on the placement of your word on the board.


Need for Speed: Undercover shown in new trailer

During Apple’s “Let’s Rock” event Electronic Arts showed a new trailer of its upcoming iPhone and iPod Touch game Need for Speed: Undercover. We’ll have to disappoint fans of Margaret Quigley, because apparantely she’s not in the iPhone version of the game.

First of all there’s a smashing classic, EA’s Tetris dropped from $9.99 and $7.99 giving you no more reason to pick this game up now. The second game that had to deal with a pricedrop today was Big Bang Sudoku from Freeverse. Instead of $4.99 you now pay only $2.99 for this game filled with Sudoku puzzles. No online multiplayer for EA’s Scrabble

EA, Scrabble, Electronic Arts, Apple, iPhone, iPhone 3GFingerGaming reports that EA’s Scrabble, which they showed off last week during a press demonstration, will only have a local Wi-Fi mode. When Electronic Arts announced the game for Apple’s iPhone many gamers hoped that this addictive board game would have an online multiplayer mode. According to EA it’s Apple’s fault that they can’t put an online mode in Scrabble because they haven’t made this ability yet. Because Apple doesn’t have the ability for online gaming yet developers are using other tools such as Neutron from Exit Games.


Need for Speed: Undercover speeds to the iPhone

EA, Electronic Arts, iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPod Touch, Need for Speed: UndercoverElectronic Arts has announced that Need for Speed: Undercover, the twelfth game in the Need For Speed series, will also be released on the iPhone. Today they also announced that Mission Impossible III actress Margaret Quigley will be the game’s main character. EA is reintroducing cops in the game and has added in a ton of new features. A release date and more information about the iPhone-version of the game haven’t been released yet.
